Since June 2000 we support a stand-alone version of the HIJING event generator program in $STAR/pams/gen/hijing.

This directory contains all the necessary code as well as the makefile (hijing.mk) and an example of steering datacards (hijev.inp) to build and run a stand-alone version of the program.

The resulting output is written as an n-tuple into an hbook file (evgen.run.nt), which can be read by STAF. Sequential run numbering and random number assignment is done automatically by the program

In each release we build an executable of HIJING for Linux platforms in $STAF/bin/hijjet.x

The old (obsolete) version running as a STAF module is kept in $STAR/pams/gen/hij only for historical purpose but is not anymore a recomended way of running HIJING. If you still want to use it for some reason, pay special attention that it uses different set of datacards (with the same file name!).
