Pine
A text-based mail handler with a nice columnar layout showing the
available mail folders and news groups (unlike the standard UNIX
mailer). Many options can be customized. Help is available at any
time for all available commands and features by pressing the "?" key.
You can even tell it to bring up your favorite editor when creating
messages... Many people in RNC at LBNL use Pine. It is available
there by typing "module load pine", or adding it to your login
sequence in the ~/.rc/user_modules file, if you use ~/.rc etc. To
bring it up, type "pine". - Edited from a note by Nathan Stone
