real 'mixed trigger' events taken March 1, 2003

Calibration based on isolated MIP towers, miniDaq run #1001
  • Pedestals were determine from the same data, by fitting Gaussian to the maximum +/- 4 channels.

    The list is in offline DB with the time stamp Mar 1, 0:0:0. The values changed up to +/- 2 channels in comparison with the data taken ~ 2 weeks ago with the random trigger. The width of pedestal peak increased a bit, but it is probably due to real entries. The exception is tower 08TB07 , with the 3rd bit too often populated. Also tower 08TD04 almost not counted (~3K entries while others have ~175K entries) - it is technically not possible, so probably there is a bug in my sorter, I'll have a look.
    The pedMan.C script fitting one pedestal at a time can be used to display individual towers.

    Since the offline DB refused to accept new pedestals, I used the old ones (will be fixed ASAP)

    Method:
    - reject events with corrupted token or crate ID
    - reject events with any ADC>255 ( to avoid n*256 pattern)
    - reject towers with ADC below 3 sigma over pedestal
    - accept towers in the center of empty 3x3 patch
    - ADC spectra for accepted towers were separately for each tower
    - calculate acceptance 'efficiency' to see the 'MIP peak' .

    The error of efficiency is calculated as sqrt(4*n1*(n-n1)/n^3), where n is total number of entries and n1 is number of accepted entries.
    (see also test on simulated data)

    Fit of exponential to the slope was at fixed range of [8-40], fit of Gaussian to efficiency at the range of [5,50]. One may find all sorts of pathologies:
    - 2 peaks --> 5TC02
    - no accepted towers --> 8TB02
    - a lot of matched towers --> 8TE10
    But in many cases we get the result similar to the figure below.
