Current Status/Recent Updates
24-AUG-2000 NEW!!
The raw data format has been implemented. Please see below the first
images of laser test data in the PadMonitor!
17-AUG-2000
Major bug fixes have been implemented. In addition, the padmonitor
can now read zero suppressed data as well as raw adc data. The
implementation is hidden from the user. Three file types are currently
allowed: .daq, .raw, .sup
12-Jul-2000
Major improvements to the layout and functionality. The problems with
the JVM and JNI have been solved - the PM no longer crashes. See the new
screenshots and the change log for each of the source files for more info.

The code is still a bit clumsy - I'm currently working out some of
this. In particular, at the moment most data members are static and only
one instance of each display type is created. These are updated via
static method calls. I would like to smooth some of this out and
provide a more elegant implemenation.
I'm having
some problems with the Java Virtual Machine and the Java
Native Interface to the Format Reader. Currently, this randomly crashes
when I try to read in more than one event in a single program execution.
(Segmentation Violations and Stack Overflows) I'm working on it.

Future Plans
12-Jul-2000
The online interface is the only one of the previous future plans not completed. Mark Allen (new
undergraduate working with us) is currently working on programming a socket to connect us to the Event Pool
server.
We would like to interface Holm's cluster finder to display clusters in a pop-up window.

Smooth out the problems outlined above.

Keyboard selection of sector/pad/timebin
User ADC/TimeBin threshold selection
Intelligent color display scaling (fixed, data min/max, log/lin - user choice) - currently fixed scale only
