FTPC Pad Monitor Running Instructions
To run the FTPC pad monitor log on to virgo-run09.starp as ftpccrew. The STAR-FTPC programming environment
will be setup automatically when you login.
Type padmon& in your working directory
The FTPC pad monitor display panal will appear on your screen.
To make a selection always click with the left_mouse button

Select a data file:
- click with left mouse button on File (upper left corner, second line)
- select the Open option
When the "Open" window appears, navigate backwards through the directories, by clicking on the small yellow arrow,
to the folder "evp" for events in the online event pool (/evp/a)
or "data" for the data disk (/data) then descend the directory to the data files
and select a file for display

Select FTPC 1 (West) or FTPC 2 (East) (selected button turns green)

Select the "Read Phys" file type button (selected button turns green)
- Read Raw Data
- Read Geo Data
- Read Pedestal
- Read Zero Supp.
- Read Phys
- Select the Next Event Button (The event info will be displayed in the white display window between the 2 FTPC's)
- Select an RDO (buttons labeled Recv. 01 -> Recv. 10)
- VERY IMPORTANT: before clicking on individual pads, you have to click on the bar labelled RC... between the two pad rows. If you don't do that, the PadMonitor will crash with a segfault
- Click on pad to be displayed - the information for the selected pad will be dislayed in the two display windows
- If you want to look at a new file, first close the old one by selecting the Close option under File before selecting and openning a new file
- To exit select first the Close option and then exit PM option under File
