Content of the Hadronic Cocktail events
Events are generated using Lanny's "mev" generator. pT distributions are
thrown according to :
dN/pT ~ pT*exp(-mT/T), mT = sqrt(pT**2+m**2) (see
documentation in pams/gen/mev).
All pT distributions are truncated at 3 GeV/c.
There are three kinds of events, "lowdensity", "standard", and
"highdensity", with the controlling parameters:
- hc_low: dN/dy(pi+) = 20, dN/dy(proton)=2, 400 events per run.
- hc_std: dN/dy(pi+) = 200, dN/dy(proton)=20, 40 events per run.
- hc_high: dN/dy(pi+) = 500, dN/dy(proton)=20, 16 events per run.
The meson populations are:
- pi+ = pi- = pi0
- K+ = K- = K0s = 0.2*pi+
pT slope = 200 MeV/c for pions, 250 MeV/c for Kaons.
The baryon populations are:
- lambda = proton
- sigma+ = sigma- = 0.3*proton
- cascade- = 0.1 * proton
- antiparticle yield = particle yield
pT slopes for all baryons are 300 MeV/c.
Exotica:
- high pT pi+, pi-, pi0 at 1% of above pion populations, with pT slope = 1
GeV.
- deuterons at 1% of proton yield, pT slope = 600 MeV/c.
