High Voltage Power Supply

Last Updated: 15 June 1995

Requirement:

Each SDD must be provided high voltage.

Justification:

The SDD will not drift without high voltage.

Requirement:

72 high voltage power supplies with adjustable voltage range 0 to -2000 V, and stability 0.1%.

Justification:

The silicon drift detectors need negative high voltage. Each end of each ladder is supplied high voltage from a separate source. There are 36 ladders, so 72 high voltage sources are required. Each high voltage channel connects to a high voltage divider board near a carrier interface.

LeCroy 1440 High Voltage system to provide at least 72 high voltage channels with adjustable voltage range 0 to -2000 V, and stability 0.1%.

72 power supplies to generate other voltages required by SDDs (E1, W0, W1, and S1). These supplies to be located in SVT racks. Each supply to provide -100 VDC and sent to readout electronics where power conditioners will generate voltages required.
