TOFp System Procedure:
TOFr Remote Threshold Systems Power On or Off


   Description:
This is the procedure to turn on or off the Remote Threshold System for TOFr.

   Requirements:
  1. Notification and Approval of TOFp Group.
  2. Access to STAR Subnet.
  3. Password Information (posted at TOF Station in STAR Control Room).
   Procedure:
  1. Open the TOFr NPS Tutorial in a browser window for reference.
  2. From any terminal window, make a telnet or ssh connection to tofrnps.starp.bnl.gov  (130.199.60.9). The password is posted at the TOF Station in the Control Room.
  3. You are now logged into the TOFr Network Power Switch.
  4. Enter
         /S
    to display NPS Plug names and status.
  5. Locate in this listing the name "TOFr_Thresh". Identify the plug number: 5

    6. THRESHOLD SYSTEM ON

  6. Enter
         /on 5,y
    to turn on Plug 5, which powers up the TOFr Threshold System.
  7. Enter /S to check action completed, then /x to exit the communication w/ the NPS unit.
  8. Note the action in the Shift Log Book.

    9. THRESHOLD SYSTEM OFF

  9. Enter
         /off 5,y
    to turn off Plug 5, which powers down the TOFr Threshold System.
  10. Enter /S to check action completed, then /x to exit the communication w/ the NPS unit.
  11. Note the action in the Shift Log Book.

  1. Contact TOFp Control to inform that procedure is complete, and with any end-of-procedure comments that are necessary.
