G2T : Geant to Table conversion tool
G2T is a STAF modele, which converts the Geant output
(geometry description, list of paricles - both coming from event generator
and generated by Geant, list of hits in STAR sensitive detectors) into
To initiate the conversion user should:
- open a Geant file with the gfile command:
- load the G2T module with
- execute the following two commands for each new event
If during the Geant simulation phase events were splitted into
subevents, merging in a single event is done automatically.
G2T put the geometry tables into /dui/Run and
the event (track/hit) tables into /dui/Event directories.
Directory names can be redefined with the DETP command,
DETP G2TM gttc.edir=mydir
redirects the event tables into /dui/mydir directory.
If name is empty, event tables will be created in the
Current Working Directory.
level directory is created automatically. If you have more complicate
path, you should create it with the STAF mkdir commands.
- Hits from all subsystems are converted into corresponding tables,
including additional TPC pseudo pad-rows. User can prevent conversions
for a specific subsystem or its part by reseting its onoff
flag with the following DETP command:
DETP G2TM dete(i).onoff=0
Here is the subsystem numbering (mnemonic codes will be implemented later):
svt tpc inner outer mwc tof ctb emc smd eem esm ftpc vpd
Full list of the G2T control parameters, accessible via DETP command, and their
default values can be found here
