Summary of gains & masks tables for pre/post shower & SMD for 2004 data
INPUT : only minB triggered events:
* for SMD calib - 1.5M eve from runs with TPC in the data stream
* for pre/post calib - 3.1M eve from any reasonable runs
MIP identified by UxV signature in SMD was used to determine absolute gains
energy equivalent to a MIP traversing tile/strip (parallel to Z)
SMD strip gain [ch/GeV] = -760/slope(rawSpec) * U-shape(MIP)/1.3 MeV ;
erGain= erSlope
pre/post gain [ch/GeV] = MPV(MIP) * tgh(eta)/0.9 MeV ;
erGain/gain =sqrt(erMPV/MPV^2 + 1ch^2) , to account for 1ch ped max error.
Valid MAPMT data start from RHIC fill F4579, i.e. TM0=March 3, 4pm.
exception is box 6S1 for which valid data start from TM1=April 3, 4pm (after box replacement)
Both gains & stat tables will be loaded with the default 'ofl' flavor

Energy = ADC-ped/gain is always in GeV.
For pre/post/SMD there is NO sampling fraction correction, so one gets the actual energy deposited in the scintilator. (It is different for towers where SF is folded in the gain.)

SECTOR 6
Sector 6 has problem with the 6S1 box. It serves the following
192 strips .
For time stamp of TM0=March-3 those strips will have gains set to 0 and additionally
will have the 'fail' mask set to 2 , which denotes 'no HV'.
For time stamp of TM1=April 3 the full set of gains for sector 6 will be loaded and the fail mask for 6S1 dropped.
