Mask scan for SMD in sectors 6,7,8
  • events were taken with miniDaq on January 12 --> see eLog
  • the timing was not perfect, but we double check the LED peak is well visible above pedestal in all smd boxes.
  • runs 171-178 were taken with mask changing in tower crate#4 and we watched sectors 6 & 7; for runs 181-188 the mask was changed in crate #5 and we looked at smd in sector 8.

    The oryginal files are at /home/online/mini/trees/BlueLed, about 3K events per file taken at the rate of ~70Hz.

    WARN, boxes 5S2 & 5S3 may have marginal timing - never checked.

    Note 1, all the plots below were based on the maping stored in DB as of January 11.

    Note 2, sector 5 is already corrected in DB for 90 deg rotation and individual swaps - look how all matches now !

    Day later Piotr added to DB 90 deg rotation for 6S1, 7S1, 8S1
    Notation encoding changes from previous DB mapping:
    g :(good) strips matched to LED box
    w :(wrong)strips not matched to LED box
    +X : more strips fired then space in empty LED boxes
    -X : too few strips fired to fill in empty LED boxes
    OK : all agree
    Exmaple: 2w1g = 2 wrong 1 good, etc.

    To generate the plots above use the following command (correct paths as needed)

    mask="0x80"
    run=188
    echo "mask=$mask run=$run"

    root.exe < < EOF
    .x macros/plWDpixels.C
    .x macros/plWDblueLed.C
    openFile1("outBlue/pi$run.hist.root");
    //plPlane("06U"); plPlane_led("06U",$mask); printCanvas(2);
    //plPlane("06V"); plPlane_led("06V",$mask); printCanvas(2);
    //plPlane("07U"); plPlane_led("07U",$mask); printCanvas(2);
    //plPlane("07V"); plPlane_led("07V",$mask); printCanvas(2);
    plPlane("08U"); plPlane_led("08U",$mask); printCanvas(2);
    plPlane("08V"); plPlane_led("08V",$mask); printCanvas(2);

    Investigation of 12-5 vs 12-6 swap in sector 6 using cross talk.
    run   desired strips  mask

    175   U81-92           x10

    mask 0x01

    mask 0x10

    Probably timing of 6S3 is marginal to find out where LED fired. Why 06U093 sees LED? It is neither on the 0x10 nor 0x01 mask?
