How to connect the cables and the cards.
The two PCI-9812 cards are plugged in a free PCI slot. The card
order is from top to bottom PCI slot starting with 0, 1, 2, ...
If you have an additional card, like PCI-7200 , than the device number
is 0 for this card. If you have a second card from the same type, you have
to start counting from top to bottom PCI slot.
The cables of the electronic from the driftmonitor must be attached
in following order:
Channel 0: Triggersignal from top and bottom counter
Channel 1: Delayed signal from bottom counter (about 600 ns delay)
Channel 2: Delayed signal from top counter (about 600 ns delay)
Channel 3: Undelayed signal from pick up
Channel 4: Unconnected (digital in-/output)
Be careful if you start a labview-program which waits for a trigger
signal on a certain channel(using the PCI 9812 card).
"YOU CAN NOT STOP OR ABORT THE PROGRAM BY SOFTWARE
IF THERE IS NO TRIGGER SIGNAL !!! "
If the driver of the card is waiting for a trigger signal to acquire data,
there is no possibility to give a stop input by software to the driver
to break execution. It is also not possible to kill Labview in the taskmanager
of Windows NT.
The only possibility is to give an external trigger, e.g. by a function
generator, pocket pulser, switching the electronic off and on or dis- and
reconnecting the triggerchannel.
Please, try to avoid this situation.
