The FTPC fast simulator is implemented in STAF(ffs) and ROOT (as a part of St_fcl_Maker).
It was written in Fortran by Michael Konrad and is supported by Janet Seyboth and Holm Hümmler.
FFS simply takes the hit points registered by geant and turns them into FTPC points. Some cuts are applied to remove points that are outside the sensitive volume of the FTPC sectors and to account for the loss of hits due to cluster merging. Some of the geant information is kept in the gepoint table to be used in efficiency studies.
In the long run, the FTPC-group aims to replace ffs with a new program derived from the Tpc Response Simulator, thus making full use of the object oriented framework.
