In order to achieve the same speed and noise characteristics one would have to run transistors at a much higher current in a CMOS design. The power consumption would rise from currently 2mW/channel to around 10-15 mW/channel. Also, at low capacitance level CMOS characteristics are worse than the bipolar characteristics.
