Moderately Tested! Use at Your Own Risk!

WARNING!
To analyze data simulated by GSTAR you should create a staf executable with the tpc pam in it following instructions by Bill Love.

Here is an example kumac to run analysis (fast simulator -> hit filtering -> tracking -> dedx calculation -> evaluation).

Files of gstar input for the "fast path"

Only files with a full parent information preserved for the TPC hits can be used as an input (same for the "slow path"). So make sure that

mode tpce simu 2

is set in yout gstar kumac. The "fast path" can process files with and without the shadow padrows. To save disk space put the following line in your gstar kumac:

detp tpce tpcg(1).MWCread= 0 tprs(1).super= 1

The tfs.kumac points you towards a file with hijing events. More suitable input files should be listed here.

Operating Instructions

Save the example kumac from the Web or copy it from:

$STAR/kumacs/tpc/tpc_fast_sim.kumac

to your directory and save it as tpc_fast_sim.kumac

Start Staf by following instructions from Bill Love.

Then you can just run simulations chain:

exec tpc_fast_sim input_directory input_file number_of_events

The kumac is set up to process data for one event and produce a track eveluation ntuple.
