note this only one of two soln's... here i "shifted
some adcs down in ch #" (leading to a liveness gap at high tofr ch number
as seen in the after figure), but an equivalent soln is to "shift those same
tdcs up" which would result in a gap at low tofr ch #s... both solutions
result in correct assignments of an adc ID to a tdc ID for the majority of
the tofr chs... i'll work out that alternate map tomorrow morning
and then also provide the intermediate details which i've skipped so
far (i.e. the correlation plots which best depict the actual problem)...
of course the ratio of the mean height in bins 0-40 to that in bins >48
of ths histogram should be roughly the ratio of the tofp and tofr cell
sizes... now that the hit patterns are in better shape (still some cuts
to look into) i'm going to try to make a first stab @ this ratio tomorrow
too... if that ratio is close to what we expect, that already is a
good sign that tofr is not "just measuring brooklyn phone numbers" here....
after a few min of staring at the gif of 'after' plot (i.e. doing this
just by eye), the ratio of (tofp rate)/(tofr rate) ~ 4, which sounds
about right.... tofp is 1.5"x20cm=76.2 cm^2/slat, and tofr is just shy of
20cm^2 per cell if i remember correctly.... i'll try to do this a
bit more precisely tomorrow.
