Hi, Bill:
I will use the access to connect the pVPD timing signal to CBD
so that we have all BBC, ZDC, CTB and pVPD in trigger.
Thanks!
Zhangbu

Subject: Planing for the Access next week (1/29 & 1/30).
Dear Sub-system managers and others,
We've been told that the schedule for next weeks access to the STAR
IR is fixed and definite. The plan is that the collider will attempt to
have a good store in the RHIC collider at ~ midnight on Tuesday, Jan
28th (if it avoids confusion, one can call this 00:01 on Wednesday Jan.
29th), and then we'll run for Physics through the early morning hours of
Wednesday. Once this store is lost for any reason, either voted out or
lost, the access to the IR will start. I believe it's extremely likely
that one way or the other the access will start by 8:00 am on Wednesday
morning, Jan. 29th.
The time estimate to perform the Tandem related work that is causing
this access is 46 hours, starting once the last store is put into RHIC
(i.e. starting at ~ 00:01on Wednesday), therefore we should be back up
and capable of running with RHIC beams by 22:00 on Thursday, Jan. 30th.
For all of the usual reasons (planning, resource allocation,
configuration control/tracking. etc.) Ralph and I would like to hear
from any sub systems that plan to do any work in the STAR IR during this
access. There will be a meeting tomorrow afternoon (Thursday, Jan. 23rd)
at 3:00 pm, in the conference room out at the STAR site, to look over
the input we receive from you and start planning for this access. If you
happen to be on site you are welcome to attend this meeting. Whether you
can attend this first planning meeting or not, Ralph and I request that
you send us as much detail as you can about what work you plan to do in
the IR during this access. As we get closer to the access, and perhaps
your plan gets more detailed we'll appreciate getting this information
as well. The outcome from tomorrow's meeting should be a rough plan that
hopefully incorporates everyones needs. Please try and get this first
pass of your plans to us by tomorrow (Thursaday. Jan. 23rd) at noon BNL
time.
Greetings,
Bill and Ralph
