So it's a hardware issue? I thought it was done in software...

Regarding the L2 accept: you should get it in less than 10ms
(normally) and rarely 10-20-30 ms.

Anything above is probably an error to begin with. But to be safe,
I'd set you timeout to 100-200ms.
