Bill,
I cannot find the paper w/ the last changes to the TOFp HV cells but
let me summarize below what changed since the last time the map of
HVSystem has been updated on the web (HVC refers to HVcell numbers, and
TOFp refers to the slat ID, which runs from 1-41 -- see map)
http://mac8.rice.edu/~TOF/TOFp/operations/maps/hvsys.html
(map date "Fri, 30 Nov 2001 02:29:27 GMT")
I don't think anycells were moved around: cells were moved out and in
the tray.
Old HVC#s (TOFp#) i.e. on the web-map, but not in the current system:
HVC#6(TOFp#39), 11(TOFp#19), 20(31), 46(34) and 48(5)
these were replaced with 5 new ones (but i do not know where, ... yet):
HVC#19, 21, 22, 23 and 37
From the hp_after_map2.gif i can identify 4 dead channels (apart from
the FEE which might hide a few more):
TOFp#9, 16, 19 and 32
In the HV log files I see one clear corresponding dead candidate: HVC#30
(TOFp#16).
HVC#37 fluctuates a lot but it is not clear where this cell is located.
That might be any of TOFp#5, 19, 31, 34 or 39. If it turns out to be the
dead TOFp#19 than you should definitly replace it.
Channel TOFp#32 is dead too and corresponds to HVC#38. This cell
fluctuates a little more than average ... might be indicative for
something going south. Better replace it ... unless it is only the
timing signal of TOFp#32 that is causing the problems
As for TOFp#9 (HVC#5), the HVcell looks just fine ... nothing wrong.
Maybe a dead analog channel, the timing channel looks fine.
If you look in more detail at your hp_after_map2.gif file then you
could argue that channel 17 has a lower yield. The channel corresponds
to HVC#52 ... this cell fluctuates quite a bit. The cell died the 1st
time I started the system but came back alive after a powercycle
(heavily fluctuating, though)
If i just could find that stupid piece of paper, i could get rid of some
of the ambiguity but maube it is just as fast if you could just try to
find where the 5 new cells are located. So could you give me a "before"
and "after" map ... thanks!
good luck,
-frank
