gentleman -- as of now the general software maintenance of rice1 and
tofgas is under controle of Wayne Betts. He can -remotely- instigate
updates of software packages should they come available from Redhat.
This makes the ITD folks feel happy, and we always want them to be
happy, don't we ...
gasmon is part of the STAR critical group, which means that I don't want
it updated during the run and only when I ask after the run.
rice1 is considered a desktop machine and will be updated whenever Wayne
thinks it's necessary (he'll let me know).
Plans are to upgrade and move our other two systems (tofp and tofpdaq)
as well once the runs is over.
