hi Nu, i am looking at the localmonitor myself but something is F*** up.
It appears that the localmonitor is not getting updated anymore.
Also, I can tell from the local online QA plots (those next to the RTS
screen) that something bad happened to the TOF because they hardly seem
to fill too. Finally, I see many, many time-outs pass by in the STAR DAQ log.
Something is not good ... I can only see that all our systems *should*
be online but this is pointing more and more to some (local) trigger
issue. Since last Wednesday's access typically two things happened:
* I recompiled on Jeff L.'s request the tofpdaq code (for something that
shouldn't even affect TOF at all)
* Zhangbu did some measurements at the TOF rack and installed one or two
things on Wed- and Friday.
If a reboot of TOFpDAQ's code does not work than an access will be our
only chance to debug this problem further.
<<< FORGET ABOUT THIS PART BELOW ... we just talked on the phone and I
already did it :) >>>>
If you can get a chance between runs, could you please do the following:
go to the TOF terminal, open a window and ssh to tofpdaq:
ssh tofp_at_tofpdaq.starp.bnl.gov
(passwd=t4flight)
then enter this:
tofpdaq restart
it will respond with
Are you sure you want to restart tofpdaq program: (Y)es/(N)o? [N]
answer Y
wait ~10s and type in
tofpdaq status
amongst many things you should now see these processes run:
tofpMother, monDisplay, runcontrol, getdata, senddata and localmon
after this you can log out again.
