hi zhangbu (and lijuan),
here's the recipe i mentioned... your help on this
is needed because it's not clear exactly when during a
spill the tof trigger will run, and just for clean-ness
we'd like to tof triggered data to be in its own
localmon file all by itself...

go to the tofp console, and open a terminal window.

        cd daq/data
        ls -s localmon.dat

-> if size of this file is zero, skip to place marked (**).

-> if size is not zero, first get the 7 digit number
of the most recent run star took.

then stop the localmon program.

        localmon stop

then

        mv localmon.dat localmon_toXXXXXXX.dat

where the X's are that run number.

then restart the localmon program

        localmon start

double-check it's running

        localmon status
        ls -s localmon.dat

i.e. there should now be a new file called localmon.dat
with size = zero bytes...

(**) .... DO THE TOF TRIGGER TEST RUN....

when the tof trigger'ed run is finished, then

from the same window,
        localmon stop
        mv localmon.dat localmon_toYYYYYYY.dat
        localmon start
        localmon status

and then star returns to normal dAuminbias running
(and the new localmon file starts filling up again)...
a Y is the number of the tof triggered run.

maybe send a summary email to tofp_at_physics.rice.edu if you
remember?
