Dear shift leaders,
Last night the shiftcrew raised some questions w.r.t. TOFp (not TOFr!)
High Voltage monitoring in Slow Controls. They noted that despite some
read dots in the SC's TOFpHV monitor no audible Red or Yellow alert was
triggered (i.e. no boxes in the alarm handler turned yellow or red).

This is intended behaviour of this particular monitoring system: the HV
readout system has some features that cause bits to drop and readouts to
show messed up. Therefore, we only monitor the system, archive the
readouts and don't have it generate alarms based on those readouts.
Should one of the channels remain below ~1200V for a longer time then
chances are that that channel died and we cannot do anything about it
(unless the pole-tip gets removed). Usually the TOF detector experts
already picked this up, but it never hurts to send us an email at
tofp_at_physics.rice.edu.

As for TOFpHV the only alarm that can be generated is when
communications between SC and TOFpHV are interrupted for a longer
period. This always requires action by TOFp Detector Experts (email or
use the phone numbers above the TOF terminal)

For more information check the TOF operation webpages or send us an
email at tofp_at_physics.rice.edu

Thanks,
  Frank
