right on the mark!!
 From what i've read so far the move to a 2.4 kernel ought to be
straightforward. I expect some issues w/ the RH9 out-of-the-box kernel
as it has some fundamental changes w.r.t. process scheduling (something
from which the tofpdaq could benefit).

On a different issue: I have asked Jerome to create a "online" TOF area
in STAR CVS. This will allow us to keep and backup our different TOF
versions much in a similar (but safer) way as already was running on
tofpdaq. Unfortunately I am not aware of a way to copy all revisions so
i'll probably submit the "major" revisions we had so far (i.e. TOF y2
and TOF y3 software)
