How to retrieve DAQ files from HPSS

Step 1: Go to Input file generator page.

You'll find three entry boxes:

1. Restore Base PATH : Write the path where you want to copy the files (e.g. /star/data03/daq/pmd/run4/)
2.Ignored HPSS path : Leave it as it is.
3.Space separated list of DAQ file name(s) and/or Year > 2 run number and/or RunNumber.fileSeq: Write the Run No. you want to copy (e.g.5078010)

Then "click" on "Submit query" button. This will give you a text file each line containing the source and target files like: 

/home/starsink/raw/daq/2004/064/st_physics_adc_5064010_raw_4080003.daq /star/data03/daq/pmd/run4/st_physics_adc_5064010_raw_4080003.daq 
/home/starsink/raw/daq/2004/064/st_physics_adc_5064010_raw_4080002.daq /star/data03/daq/pmd/run4/st_physics_adc_5064010_raw_4080002.daq

The step below has to be done in rcas where you have a write permission.
Step2:

Copy the above list (as many lines as you want) in a text file (e.g. file.lis)

Now type : hpss_user.pl -f file.lis (user is not your user name)

You may be interested to know what is going on. Then Accounting interface page. Here you give your user name, the dates and it will show you the status of your jobs.
