- One can try and repeat the fill start "Master Reload" from
the tower FEE GUI. This is the easiest approach; Master Reload does a
reset and reconfiguration of all crates (along with calculation and
redownload of all LUT's). This complete operation takes ~ 5 minutes
including the final crate checking sequence (sometimes required to
get final ready status).
- But more directly (or if "Master Reload" has [repeated*]
difficulty
for some tower crates), action at the lower level individual screens of
the affected crates can be
employed (to access, click on the corresponding gray box labeled "Crate #n"
from the tower FEE GUI). A "load", "write", "read" writes and reads the
configuration
and one should see the individual FEE cards go from COMMAND to RUN
mode in the final phase. Note: the LUTs are calculated/loaded automatically
during the next run start so "calc LUT" and "write LUT" are not explicitly needed.
- a hard "reset" (popup window on "resets" from individual tower crate GUI) reprograms
all FPGA's
to power up value and hence must be followed by complete reconfiguration (LUTs
are downloaded upon run start) as per a power cycle.
If a power cycle is employed to clear problems,
or if any tower
FEE crates have tripped off, a "Master Reload" (or its equivalent as described
above at the
crate level - recall there are 2 crates per supply!) is required after
resetting the LV power.
- When in doubt, consult an EEMC expert!
*[Note: the "break" button may be used to interrupt master reload, thus
allowing corrective actions to be taken; at the end, a final full reload
will of course be required.]
