T963  MTD (MRPC) DAQ Instruction

1)
If XXUSBWin is not running already, (otherwise, skip to 6).)
check if it runs at the background 
by "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" and Look at Task Manager 
If "XXUSBWin" is in task Manager but doesn't have 
an open window, Select it and "End Task" 

Click on icon: 
XXUSBWin at Desktop 
to start DAQ 

XXUSBWin will popup 

2)Goto "Stack Builder", 
In "Special Commands" 
Click on "C", "Z" and "Clear Inhibit", 
then click on "File" at the top left corner 
Select "T963ADC48TDC40SC16.stp"

click on "Read" at the bottom right corner 
Readback on the right should show a list 
of hex starting with 0071 

3)goto "LED/NIM Multiplexers" panel, and 
Select 
"Acquire" and "Inv" in BOTH "O1 NIM" and "O2 NIM" 

4) Goto "DAQ" and in "Global Options" 
Fill "Wdg Timeout" with "F" 
Fill "Watchdog Timer" with "5"
click on "Set Option" 

5) In "Data Acquisition" panel at the bottom 
"Output File Format" select "Dec" 
Replace "Default" next to "USBRes" 
with whatever comments appropriate for this run. 

6) To Start a run,  
click on "Start" at the "Data Acquisition" panel in "DAQ", 
a window will popup, asking for file name of the output 
data file, write "T963AAABBBBBBrunCC" 
where "AAA" is the physics of the run (e.g. "test", "HVSCAN", 
   "XSCAN", "YSCAN", "ped", "E8GeV")
"BBBBBB" is the date (e.g. 050407) 
"CC" is the run number (e.g. 01,02, 30)
Please make sure your run number is in synch with Erik's DAQ  
e.g. in C:\Documents and Settings\muon\Desktop\T963\
If you click "start" and find something is wrong, DON'T click 
cancel, you may overwrite the datafile from previous run. 
You SHOULD input the datafile you want, and select "Open". 
Then "STOP" DAQ for any changes you need, then re-"start" the 
run again with the same new file name you just opened. 

7) Make sure the other DAQs are ready 
"TRACKING" (Erik's computer on your left side), 
GEM far left side 
TRACKING DAQ is /fnal/ups/prd/mtest/v2_2/mtest 
type "y" return, and put in comments in next line
 
Push the "start" button in the NIM crate in top-left 
front of you, do it when we are off a spill. You have 
55 seconds to do it. Don't rush.  
  
8) "Stop" run every hour, 
   Stop MTD DAQ first, then TRACKING, then GEM 
   TRACKING: Ctrl+c , put in end of run comments
   Write down #events in DAQs and scaler. 
   If you find that #events in Erik's DAQ is different from 
   Visual Scaler, stop the run and restart a new run. 

Repeat from 6) to 8)
