First Announcement

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to announce and call for your registration for the 20th Winter Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics that will be held March 14 - 20, 2004 at the StarFish Resort in Trelawny Beach, Jamaica. Please see the Workshop Webpage at:

http://www.star.bnl.gov/~panitkin/Jamaica_04/

for detailed information on topics of the conference, accommodations and costs, travel info, activities, deadlines, etc, and previous workshops in this series.
Following the long-standing tradition of the Winter Workshop series, this 20th Workshop will cover all aspects of nuclear dynamics: radioactive ion beam collisions, nuclear astrophysics, quark structure of nuclei, low and intermediate energy heavy ion physics, and relativistic heavy ion physics. Particular emphasis will be placed on RHIC data and theory.
However, we strongly encourage presentations of physics results from other facilities, such as TJNAF, MSU, GSI, and CERN. We also expect that theory talks will go beyond the scope of the physics from these facilities.
Please see the 'Conference Topics' link on the homepage

http://www.star.bnl.gov/~panitkin/Jamaica_04/topics.html

for more details.
Each talk will be 25+5 minutes long and there will be morning and evening sessions.
We recommend that you arrive on Sunday, March 14th and leave on Sunday, March 21st.

The Workshop registration process for the 20th Winter Workshop follows the streamlined process of former years;

1) Hotel resevation:
A SIGNED letter of authorization should be faxed to +1 876 518 6353 (attention Mr. Odel Whyte) before December 14, 2003with the following information:

  • Name (first and last),
  • Arrival and Departure dates,
  • Credit Card Info (including expiration date).
  • Please mention the "Nuclear Dynamics Workshop".
We strongly recommended that you make your hotel reservation as early as possible because March is in the middle of the Winter high Tourist season in Jamaica and prices can not be guaranteed beyond the prescribed December 14 date!
2) Indication that you will attend:
Please send the workshop secretary, Leslie Bump (leslie.bump@yale.edu) a message that you will attend, that you have registered, and a title of your proposed talk that you plan to present.
3) Conference Registration:
Updated on 01/12/03. Note deadline extension.
There will be a registration fee of $200, if you register before December 14. This fee covers the cost of a variety of services including the cost of one copy of the proceedings. Please be sure to register and make your hotel reservation before December 14, 2003. If you register after December 14, the registration fee is $250 and we can NOT guarantee your hotel reservation due to the high tourist winter demand.

To pay the workshop registration fee, please make out a check to "Yale University" and send it to the workshop secretary;
Leslie Bump
WNSL - West
Physics Department, Yale University
P.O. Box 208124
272 Whitney Avenue
New Haven, CT 06520-8124, USA

Receipts will be issued upon receipt of the registration fee.

Once again, all participants are asked to register with the hotel and the workshop secretary (steps 1 and 2 above) and send a check for the registration fee (step 3 above) as soon as possible, and no later than December 14.
All participants are strongly encouraged to attend the entire workshop and contribute to the many discussions and understanding of the new physics in the field. Also, please note that the Proceedings will be published.
If you have any questions at this time, please send e-mail to one of the Co-Organizers.

Sincerely,
Co-Organizers
