Requirement:
A minimum of three layer is required for the SVT.
Justification:
A minimum of three space points is required to determine track parameters when the track is in a uniform magnetic field.
Status:
The SVT design as specified in Chapter 22 contains 3 concentric barrels of SDDs (see Table I).
