Noise

Requirement: Static SCA Noise at Each Storate Cell

Noise is measured by applying a DC level to the input of the SCA across a large capacitor. When the SCA is alternatively written and read at or near the system write and read clock frequencies, the average output noise averaged over 256 cells shall not exceed 0.5 mV RMS. No one cell shall have noise exceeding 1 mV RMS. The noise is calculated by measuring total output noise and subtracting in quadrature measurement noise (ADC and test jig components which cannot otherwise be eliminated from the measurement).

Justification:

The SCA noise should not contribute a significant amount to total system noise. The original bandwidth at the sampling frequency is 20 MHz.
