Alarm Window

This sub-section details the functionality requirements for the alarm windows.

Requirement:

The alarm window shows a symbol identifying the error level.

Justification:

An image is worth a thousand words and conveys quick information about the level of the alarm being reported.

Requirement:

When generated by a parameter specific alarm, the alarm window shows the index number, the name of the parameter, the short description of the parameter and the location of the hardware component for which an alarm is issued. A short text detailed the type or nature of the error is also displayed.

Justification:

Clear Identification of the cause of the alarm is necessary to insure immediate action can be taken by the user to remedy the problem.

When generated by a non parameter specific alarm, the alarm window shows a short text detailed the type or nature of the error.

Justification:

Clear Identification of the cause of the alarm is necessary to insure immediate action can be taken by the user to remedy the problem.

Requirement:

The window shows a SEEN button to dispose of the window.

Justification:

The SEEN button is used by the user to indicate he has read the error message.

Status:

Requirement:

The window shows a DEFER button to suspend the generation of further alarm by the same error condition.

Justification:

Allows to put parameters in a defered state.
