i had suspected a map problem. so i made a plot of all (i,j) coincidences
with ADC&TDC values on-scale filled Nadc*Ntdc times per event....
a cabling problem was immediately evident.

i fixed it in software, and the resulting hit pattern is attached.

the next time one of us can get access - there'll be a few
things we should check... i have to think a little more about this
to know exactly what - but judging by the mapping that was required
to fix this i suspect specific cabling problems both
at the pigtail->B,D junctions AND at the rack.

the corellary of course is that we have some uncertainty now
about exactly which tofr modules are going into the index
on the horizontal axis of this plot...
