what side are the tails on? if towards lower chs (i.e. <1000),
then possibly there is 'data' there. if towards higher chs,
then problem.
i'm just letting the data collect for the next few minutes (good run so
far) before cranking it through the usual mill.
but by eye the latest tofp data seems more sensible. i.e. when i see a tdc
hit, i can count that many chs over in the adcs and also see a hit.
and vice versa. that's a good sign...
