Subject: clue (possibly) re tofr nose rate?
hi
just a thought....
zhanbgu notes the tofr singles rate is 'higher'...
i do notice that tdc ch 85 in the tdc hit patterns is
firing excessively. this is in that "wierd" tofr region
that comes and goes! i.e. there's a potential explanation
of the increase in noise rate as a specific detector (or fee)
issue. (?)
anyway - to try to help locate this channel in case
this helps zhangbu during tomorrow's access....
the hit patterns number from 0.
the first tofr ch is #48 w/ this convention.
so this one i'm noting is the 38th tofr channel if counting
fortran-like starting from 1...
so here's some areas you might check w/ the brown scaler
to see if this one chhannel is screwing up the mult trigger:
...cables at plat disc B38 and C57
...this is in NIM 3, slot 8, subadd 11, according to
http://mac8.rice.edu/~TOF/TOFp/operations/maps/tofr_NIM3_BCmap.html
perhaps it is just this one that is the noisy one... (?)
just an idea...
good luck tomorrow,
bill
