education and STAR
|
An important duty of the STAR Experiment is to provide students
and young scientists with an environment that allows them to
develop both scientific and technical skills. Among the STAR
Collaboration's 400+ members are dozens of graduate students and
young postdoctoral associates that contribute overwhelmingly to
the construction and operation of the experiment, as well as
data analysis and final presentation of results at major conferences.
To date, 24 graduate theses have been written in STAR, with a current
rate of about 1 thesis per month.
