i just did a basic check of the rate of physics events
in the newest data (L2 timeout change, mon_ratio=100, and
new pvpd HV settings) and there is a huge change here:

[tofp_at_tofp data]% grep 'TDC: 4' localmon.dat | nl > dump2.txt
[tofp_at_tofp data]% tail -1 dump2.txt
   481 TDC: 4083 4083 4083 [snip]
[tofp_at_tofp data]% grep 'TDC: 9' localmon.dat | nl > dump.txt
[tofp_at_tofp data]% tail -1 dump.txt
 10339 TDC: 982 966 984 [snip]

implying the rate of physics events in the latest localmon file
is something liek 4-5%
this is roughly a factor 5 smaller than before (2sec L2
timeout, mon_ratio=10 and pvpd hv_at_2kV)...

question - localmon samples and outputs events
at the same fraction (via the mon_ratio=100 setting) for both
pedestal and physics runs or not?

thanks
